Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

There are a few VW specialist breakers but not like the UK. If you are bringing a container over. I'd get one in the UK and bring it with you. wouldn't take up much room.

You could look for a front cut as they call them here, again not thick on the ground.

We had a VW only wrecker up til a few years ago when he shut the doors, but was all mid - late 80's or older stuff..

Scrappys as you know them in Uk dont exist here in Perth ( or likely anywhere in Oz) I pretty well import a great deal of Items i use direct from UK or the US. ( when i am there to go scrapyarding), having a mate that ships stuff regularly helps keep the importation costs down.

Advice :- bring as much with you as you can, even stuff you wanna sell.

Imported my first 1.8T from USA, cost me about $1700 to land it here, number 2 came from a complete A4 front cut, local supply.
      Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

      Cheers,
