Small update here now. Here's some pics..
The fuel lines which i tethered to the chassis suspended to avoid rubbing on the chassis (old kart racing trick. If you want more info i'll post some pics with a how to.)

And a couple of shots of the car rolled out in the sun (no body panels are fitted).

The car fired first shot with no issues. We were very, very happy about that.
It was a bit rich on the methanol feed, but pretty close. The bottle isn't big enough and it sucked it up really quick. Hence we had to shut it off and refill!
Need a bigger bottle..
So Dad shut it off, refilled the bottle and we went again. After the second start Dad switched over to Nitro relatively quickly. The engine was way rich on the valve and it half fouled the No. 1 and 2 cylinders. It started throwing raw fuel out the front pipes and rich backfiring (hard to hear in the second video). To avoid engine damage we shut it off pretty quick.
We would have run it again, but we couldn't get onto Rick. Dad was a bit apprehensive about leaning it off and going again without consulting "the doctor", so we called it quits for this weekend.
No oil leaks, nothing broke, the engine ran without any issues apart from tune.. We're extremely happy!
This first video below has the engine just running on methanol, no nitro.

Here's round 2 with the early shut down due to the mixture as i stated before. That stuff shooting out of the pipes is raw Nitro, not smoke. It was throwing it out on the ground and on the tyres. Waaaaay rich.
