Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    this is my golf my first but is not so happy now bit light in the front end
    building new eng another worked 8v.

    this is how i got it for $500

    i gave it a squirt myself
    but it needs a better one maybe purple next time
    the eng is num one at moment.

    might finish this bonnet one day

        looks great mate! keep up the good work... ever thought about dropping a 16v in there? Loony on here has a hole containerfull of the things... he'll be able to hook you up with a head or a 8v GTi motor.

          it should have been a 1.9 comfortline instead but the handbrake (wife)
          wouldnt let me, how could anybody turn down a mk5?

                  i used to have bigger toy wasnt as much fun though so the
                  bonnet skin was a leftover. sat it on the the golf thought it
                  didnt look to bad so welded it in but didnt get much further,
                  no shed and it got wet have to do filler again. that why the
                  bronze bonnet off 77 doner car.
