nice list of cars. i really like the shape of the 924 and 944. its a shame theres so many problems associated with them (from what i hear). how common are 2 door mk3s? i think ive only ever seen 1 on the road. the mk1 in your signature would have to be my favorite

I always loved watching the mirage race.
I went to a few "nation cup" races, where they race road cars against each other. They always had the mirages as a support race.... Is it true that they are almost stock bar suspenison and induction mods? and I was also told that you can buy one for $30,000 which would include 1 years raceing..... I would love to do something similar!

Not many 2 door Mk3s about the place.....all 1.8 CL models, but a great base for a 2 door conversion!!!

Worm: Although not a VW, Mirage Cup Cars are a great little package Standard Ralliart 1600 MIVEC with racing ralliart suspension! Most of the expense is a result of entry fees, tyres and safety gear! I recently sold the Mirage for 15K....so a very cheap race car!! I had a yellow one and Golfwise a white one! Next to no problems apart from basic maintenance.....won back to back Octagon 400 4 Hour Endurance races in the yellow car

Better not talk about a Mitsubishi on a VW forum hay

Hay Golfman I wish I had a before shot to show you just how much work was involved! It was a write-off, required a new roof and some serious body work! Car was also originally US LHD in red.....so a full repray inside and out was required Car was pretty much standard, apart from some chroming of engine parts and the TSW Hocks

There are two types Golfman An Economic write-off can be re-registered and a Statutory write-off can't! The R32 is a statutory write-off, so unfortunately cannot be re-registered!

The lego engine bay....what was I thinking

Only trouble with a cabriolet in Tassie....not enough warm sunny days to get the roof off
