  • some of my previous rides....

I was digging through some old pictures of some of the cars I have owned in the past! I'm not normally one for taking photos, which I have regretted in the past....especially the big conversion jobs Looking through them brings back some great memories

This was a private import 83 Golf Driver that I purchased back in late 98! It was the car that started my involvement in Motorsport back in 1999! Running a 2L 16V and with very basic set-up, it was capable of some very quick times! It now lives on the North-West Coast in Burnie

A brief stint with a Porsche! An old silver 924 that we converted into a 944 replica

My MK4 GTi purchased back in early 2000!

Not a VW ...but an extremely well set-up little race car that achieved great success Mirage Cup Car

My most recent ride...95 MK3 VR6 conversion! Such a beautiful motor

Fantastic collection. Love the VR. Always liked the A8 rims on a mk3. Is that a factory color(awesome color)?

          Nice cars!

An impressive list! Being an Old Skool sort of guy I love the red Mk1 of course.....But the Mk4 must be awesome. Interesting that you finished up with a VR6 rather than a GTI. Any plans for a Mk5 GTI?

There is nothing wrong with a VR6 as they are the next step UP from a GTI as they are a GTI with VR6 mechanicals etc without the badge.
Somewhere in between a GTI and an R32.
Tassiegti's reason for not having the black GTI now is that he has purchased a house which in most eyes be deemed more important.

The nice red 83 Mk1 is up your way in Burnie and the owner along with having a VR6 too treasures his Golfs but alas does not have a computer to join us.
I think I make up for him though.

Haha...yeah I'm not much of a fan of the old Porsche 924 and 944 for that matter! Certainly a slug However, most of the fun is in the conversion and once you have finished you get a little bored and are ready for the next project

Mk4 GTi was a great car Brackie I would not rave about the performance, but the quality and refinement was certainly impressive! As much as I have tried, I am just not sold on the look of the MK5! I keep mistaking the new Corolla for one Who knows...it did take me a while to acquire a taste for the MK4 With changing priorities, I can't see a Golf sized car being appropriate!

I'm trying desperately to get my partner out of her Rav 4! She is keen on an Audi Allroad, but I just need to develop enough trust

Yeah...it is a great colour! Not many of them came out in Fjord Blue!
Golfwise actually has a 2 door MK3 identical in colour! I think he plans to go one better and put the R32 motor in it

Now if you finish the current Mk1, that'll be my favourite
