Quick qu. relating to blacking out/distorting/twisting your number plates. Why do people do it? I can understand standard cars on cruises (particularly new ones for warranty protection etc...) but as far as a modded car goes why? There aren't going to be that many silver mk4's with RS6 wheels, FK's and a debadged grille with a German flag running around so you aren't exactly "hiding". This is an example, not a dig at you personally btw.

Thanks mate, yeah they are RS6 reps...

If anyone can see the plates on here, they may be able to get info on the vehicles owner or location, and things go downhill from there. I don't know about here in Aus but overseas, thieves have been known to check out forums to look for loot. Ie find a nice car, use the plates to find out where it resides and then go around and take it or whatever rare or expensive parts the owner was flaunting on the forum.

Also to the OP, I'm pretty sure I've seen this car parked in Lygon St when it was running the first set of wheels you posted up. Was looking good, the new wheels only improve things.

Thanks V....., Yeah I got over the old wheels, I think these ones look alot better. As for the plates being distorted, never really thought of it that way but I guess if someone really wanted to they could track down info so I guess it's not so much keeping it from forum members but the rest of the world...........
