Started out as a shunted front & rear 76 english import LS curtisy (?) of golfwise in 96. Repaired it, stuck an old passat motor in it & did hillclimbs, clubdays ect. with it. Eventually put a 1.8 tc in it rego'd it and did sealed rallies. Put a Quaife & 5 sp. in it and we got fantastic results in it. Got my curcuit licence & ran in the octagon 4 hr. at Baskerville plus competed regularly at Symmons Plains & Baskerville. The only thing I havent done in it is Targa. Had it on the dirt as well with the rally boys. Always shocked non vw people with its performance & results. Ran a 9a 2litre last year, and for the second time in 6 years of competition it let me down by snapping the exhaust cam 4 kms into the first stage of rally Burnie (savage River Stage). Still drove it 400 plus ks. home tho! Stuck another cam in it on the monday & away it went again! Got 5th. outright at the domain hillclimb (Hobart) 3 weeks later. I used Gunter golf as my businesses parts & delivery car as well!!! I have now sold the motor & I'm having a years break.
