Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • My old cars UK and AUS

So i thought i would show my love for my other cars before i saw the light and needed to get my fist DUB i still regret not getting one in the UK but hey what can you do!

My first ride was a Ford Fiesta not FESTIVA! there little hot hatches, which you all know as we get the newer models here! but one of their classics is the mk3, the model i had. From memory there 88 to 94? Matt may correct me on this, and they came in all engine varieties from 4 bangers that couldnt make it up a hill to the 1.6 SI DOHC 16V ( my one ) to the xr2i 1.8 turbo phrrroooommmm.

My other ride was a Vauxhall Corsa AKA Barina hmmm Beep beep or something stupid ( its ok for a guy to have one in the UK ) again the sportier model 1.6 GSI 16V DOHC but i had to sell it cos it pissed me off the body kit i got wasnt great to many waves and high and low spots so that when I realised in needed a MK2. They are one of the nicest cars (mk2 golf) in europe easy to maintain hmm and very easy to take apart and break! but at least once the dash is out it goes back in the same unlike most cars aka the Barina!

    enjoy

ah mate worked in the Newbury store, which is South near Reading, man it was a mad laugh got to mix paint and like make number plates - funny thing is there was no regulation on making number plates when i first started working so any dodgey townie could steal or ram raid with fake plates! ah the life! i was thinking of actually gettin my mum to send me over two white plates with my rego on it and use them for shows

oh yer the 205 are demons i used to hate racing them hehe my mate had an XS they were 1.4? not bad little motors i tell thee

Those Corsa/Barina's go very well. I had a 2004 Barina SRi, and it went great. It was awesome on semi slicks, and it ate up 6 cylinder Falcons and Commondores.
