Yeah I've been pretty lucky with the Super RS's and getting original valve steams and the center cap tool (bigger than normal RS's)
these look to be the same, apart from center cap tool but i have one to suit. I was actually surprised no-one else bid though, the next cheapest set on 17x8/9 was $950 + shipping

Good work. You need to get some HQ photos up though, as this thing looks much better in real life!
Keep it up.
Even looks tough, sounds like a bit of a weapon!
And 68/69 Camaro!? more....

Thanks man, yeah I've just recently purchased a Nikon d5100 so HQ pics will be up soon
Just with weather and not much time away from work haven't been able to get any
Haha yeah 1968, its an RS not RS/SS. So it runs a 327 hi power engine that makes 350hp iirc
gets lots of looks on road when driving, still LHD and nothing beats the sound of old school v8s

Well I haven't updated in ages so thought would post up the new mods since my last update... Posting pics in not to distant future
Installed the sub/amp and box
lowered it a touch more
Added sprintbooster that was a freebie
changed front bar to a GTI style one but have Jetta grills ready to go on
Also has a rubber lip kit so it's got "lows" at front
added a ABT rear hatch spoiler
changed mirror glass to blue tinted
Shorty antenna (9" one so I still have some radio reception)
My 17 RS's came in and currently rebuilding to US specs

Finally got my new foglights as the grille kit was missing them so on it went, looks great I reckon
foglight grilles and slim chrome trims are from ECS Tuning, rest was eBay kit
and a pic of the uberstealth sub box, took agessss to be made but fits great and have all my boot space still

Well its been a few weeks since any updates
Received the 2" lips for the 8" front RS's specs will be as follow 17x9 +35 front and 17x9.5 +16 rear
Currently sanding/priming the inner barrels
Centers away for painting
Front lips and hexs are away getting polished
Waiting on new nuts and bolts
And tyres have been ordered from Ozzy Tyres - Nitto Neogen 215/40/17
Once everything arrives then the camber and guard flaring begins lol
However I may be off to Japan in the next few weeks so progress might not as quick as I would like

will the 40 profile no completely ruin your rolling diameter?
I know that dylan is running a 45 profile on his 17's on his mk 4.

Dude thats more aggressive then what ill be running on the mk4 lol! your nuts!
as Jarred said, id go for a 45 profile on the 17s, otherwise youll end up with too much wheel gap.
id also be doing for 205/45s all round with that kind of poke... your going to be needing as much stretch as possible

So shouldn't be overly bad, however worst case is I buy new tyres or change the coils to something a little better later on to go lowerLast edited by mk5_tdi; 02-10-2012, 10:54 AM.

This although on bags are just a little wider than my current spec's
the front sits out 3mm and 10mm on rear of this car more than what mine will
Edit: cancelled backorder of 215/40 anyway now. Just called up and they won't be coming in time for the show I was trying to have these ready for. Sending out 205/45 today so should have them by end of week. Will just have to adjust to a speedo that's out by few km'sLast edited by mk5_tdi; 02-10-2012, 11:13 AM.
