Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Candy White Scirocco Build Thread

Hello everyone been here a long time in the background but haven't really contributed much. Thought I would share with you my latest pride and joy.

Picked up the car 5 weeks ago due to a cancelled order fully optioned with Pana Roof, Sat Nav and Dynaudio.

Stunning car with a great base to start mods.

    Week 1 -Mods

LED interior - LOL - Managed to break one of the lenses trying to pull the sucker out. But now I am expert. LOL

Then it was straight to see David at Reflect Effect for a bit of Opti Coat loving and Paint Decontamination to clean up what the dealers left behind.

I then matched the tint all round. The Scirocco rear and privacy windows are pre tinted but were also tinted to match the front. Gives it a real Storm Trooper look.

---------- Post added at 11:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:40 AM ----------

    Week 2

Couldn't wait for my suspension so put my new wheels on with some fat rubber to fill out the guards.

This is a better angle as it looks less like a 4WD...

Wheels are ADV8.1 Forged One Piece
    19 x 9.5 ET35
Tyres are 265/30-19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports

The wheels are now lighter by over 1kg each corner to OEM 19's with the bigger rubber.

    Week 3

Big week of mods! Suspension and Exhaust.

---------- Post added at 12:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:04 PM ----------

    KW DCC Kit

Rear wound all the way down...

---------- Post added at 12:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:09 PM ----------

    H & R Bars Front and Rear

Alloy Control Arms and HPA Dog Bone

The control arms are really light!

---------- Post added at 12:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:20 PM ----------

    Milltek Unresonated TBE

---------- Post added at 01:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:25 PM ----------

    .....and the end result.

Damn, that looks sweet man!!! Gratz!

Getting mine in about a month. Same exact options as yours.

How you feel about the white with the silver talladegas? I'd love black, but it's not an option really, unless I get them painted.

Thanks dude. I think the Silver Talladegas are nice rims but they are a conservative setup. There is heaps of room under the guards and you need to fill them out so the car looks nice and fat! My set up is the largest and most agressive you can go for the car without scrubbing. Stock offset is ET41 on a 8 inch rim with 235. I am running a 35 offset on a 9.5 width rim with 265 rubber!

Yes forgot to mention the tune - I am at HPA Stage 1 and HPA Stage 2 DSG tune at the moment. I am awiting on something new being developed to be finalised (currently in testing stages) so I will keep it a secret for now.

The tune will give you an extra 40kw at the flywheel giving you a laugh out loaud 235 kw instantly but you will require an intake and TBE. City Performance in Artarmon are the dealers for HPA. Speak to Sam or Alessio.

Awesome! Thx for the info. Does it need the full exhaust, or will just a DP do?

. Sent you a pm but you can disregard it

                          A bit of surgery today.....

After much deliberation I took the plunge and fitted the Cup Spoiler today. It was not as straight forward as I thought.

                          1. The stock spoiler comes off easy enough as its just attached by bolts
                          2. The Cup spoiler has no bolt holes and needs to be glued on. This thing is permanent so fellow scirocco owners you need to be sure!
                          3. Although listed as an OEM part it doesn't fit properly. Ian (Renenhaus) had the same issue. A bit of cutting/sanding is required

Im still in 2 minds as to whether I like the cup spoiler. From some angles I think yeah that looks good, others I think 'boy racer'..

Unfortunate that its a permanent attachment, that will sway me in to not getting one I think.

Are you going to give a few side profile pics etc?

Like you I was also unsure and was also scared about spoiling the lines, however it is reversible unfortunately you just have to destroy the spolier pulling it off. However I was pleasently surprised, I dont think photos do the spoiler any justice. It does look better in reality and it makes the back end even wider and lower.

Here are some preliminary pictures at various angles.

                              What do you think?
