This is a full custom tune. Tuned to suit my car and my cars modifications. I was there with James the entire time and saw all the runs on the dyno. Even after the car was basically finished and there was some fine tuning we turned boost levels back down to stock standard and witnessed it run 348nm of torque which is stock standard. Then back up to a massive 505nm and 193awkw. Ambient temp was 23.5 and intake temp was 24. Shootout 44. The stock standard run was done with zero modifications, as is from factory. Then i made my modifications and James worked his magic. End results are excellent, car is smooth and has excellent power delivery.

Wow, man. Just wow. The black really sets those wheels off! Love this whole build and well done at documenting it The dyno pictures and video are awesome! You should be very proud.

Good to see it all in progress.

I would be wary of powdercoating the wheels as if they are baked above 400 degrees C (to set the powdercoat) it can affect the properties of the metal in the weels making them more brittle and more likely to crack under hard driving.

(see some honda s2k forum for many pages of info on this one.)

Thanks for the concerns Clay. Ive Powder coated many wheels before and the guys i use do many race wheels and have the technic sorted out. They use a zinc base first which helps hold the paint better and smooths out the finish, i believe they dont bake them as hot as you normally would for industrial applications. I would be a little worried powder coating cheap chinese wheels where the Aluminium compound especially silicon composition and temper rating not to mention possible porosity is already present due to cheaper manufacturing. Therefore giving a higher chance of causing issues. Im not worried 1 bit.

Glad to know you have got it all sorted out.
Just don't want to see the wheel explode when you are on the hairpin at Lakeside

Yep, all sorted. The only time it will explode is from the raw power.

                        Raw torque.
Power will just spin the wheels and make the traction control limiter kick in

I turn it off. As soon as i get in the car. On the cruise in the wet the other day i had it on, got to really test the car out in the wet. Powering out of the corners i had all the wheels spinning and it was kicking in and BANG back firing. Then once i turned it off it was WAY better. I ended up going in and out of the corners as hard as i could (Mt Glorious) and it just hangs on. Even in the wet. The front understeers as expected but then the rear wheels kick in more and just power it through the corner. They really got the car sorted out. Its amazing.

Is yours able to be turned off completely (holding it in for 5 seconds or something) or is it one of the earlie ones where it is only partially turned off?

I was considering turning mine off at Lakeside to see how it handles but chief finance officer may not approve.

Well traction control is turned off with a 2 second hold and stability control with a 5 or so sec hold. Its a MY12 so its the updated version. Stability control is so fricken annoying. Im glad i can turn it off. The thing is never REALLY turned off. I believe there is a fail safe at some point. At the end of the day its just a safety thing but its annoying if you are driving hard. People should learn to drive without them as thats the only way they will know what there car is capable of. How did they do it 20 years ago? By feel and mad skills.
