bought this before the new year, and am pleased for 22k
great car but i wanna install an rcd510, as the standard unit has no 'flare'
has leather heated seats, sunroof etc,

Car looks great mate, and I certainly wouldn't say the above... the Mk5 GT is a great looking car in its own right. Timeless, tasteful, sporty. Win.

Adam its different from the average golf, which is a good thing, plus i need the sporty edge :p
And im averaging 5.6/L takin it easy but if decide to give a little bit of push, sometimes 7/L

I wouldve gone for a gtd if i had the extra dosh layin around as well :p
Like i stated, am pleased, picking up my rcd510 tonight so ill see how that goes

Installed my RCD 510 yesterday.
happy with result, much better unit than the 300 (both functionality and looks)
If someone asks why no RNS510 - They are a theft item, expensive and i dont need sat nav... iphone is fine if i ever need it.
Stuck with SD cards for music for now (anything is better than multiple mp3 cds), eventually ill put in an MDI (myself) or self install and Aux cable, noticed the pin outs and didnt think about it in depth until this morning...
So ill have to pull the unit out again soon anyway...stupid me.
