Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I'll be interested in seeing the end result! I really like the look of them. Did it come with LEDs or is it just the backing? How much did it set you? And doesn't it use MPH rather than KPH?

Same here. I have intructions for installing them from the DDI website. But i dont want to screw it up.

Its a backlight. I cant really explain but heres a photo of the back of em. They seem to just light up.
U have to change the light globe that shines down onto the dials as it is green. They recommend a blacklight globe and painting the needles fluro red/orange.
There is a KMPH kit available. The temp is in F though. But I think I can live with that.

The whole thing set me back $170 odd including postage. And they were nice enough to through a free Reverse LCD display kit. The Odometer and MFA will remain green if not changed. This kit that they offer changes the green to black and the numbers turn red instead of black.

Still not sure if i have done the right thing in buying this but I will soon find out . Ill keep you posted.
