Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Wellcometo Melbourne
Good to see another Golf nut out here - I'm also on the 457 (6 years now) but one of the girls at works reckons her fella can sort this out - i actually beliwve as he's only 20 but got 3 kitted skylines including 1 drift one - he's just chopped my springs as well and definetely knew a lot - i think he said someing about an Ofccial car importer bringing it in and "selling" it to you? I'll check it out and get back to you next week - all the best GaryCurrent ride - MKVI GTI, Candy White, 4 door, Detroits, DSG, BT
Previous VW - MK 1 Golf Clipper Convertible - 1993 - gone and now called Linda
Previous VW - MK 1 Golf GTI 1983, Lhasa Green, Perrielli P's, euro front look, gone but not forgotten

I thought i recognised this car, another pom on the board.
When i got word that i was getting a sponsorship after travelling through Oz i looked into shipping my '75 (when i last owned it) though the agency wasn't returning calls and thus the sponsorhip fell through.
From what i recall it wasn't cheap or easy to do so, though from the above couple of posts it looks like you might have found a way to do it.
Good luck!!
Pete

I'm geussing that this would make it a whole lot easier, then you won't have to go through the trouble of importing etc. and it would give you a fresh base with which to start again with, if that's what you want.
