Adelaide Photo Locations ?

Anyone got some suggestions on good locations to take photo's of my ride ?

Places like back streets, inustrial areas, tree lined streets. Even though I live here I can't really think of any good places, and I'm sure the folk at VWWatercooled have the answer.

Hey Paul,

Port Adelaide warfs is one and there is a nice sport where the Troughbridge K.I. ferry used to leave from. A great old buiding in the background. The Pat is another area, and onlong the beach in that area.

Outer Harbor is another interesting area, also the road to Torrens Is. with the Containers in the background (especially if you can find a Hamburg Sud one). If you turn down by the silos you may get a spot with the silos in the background.

Finsbury among the factories and Port Adel. wool stores area are a couple that I've used.

Holy thread revival batman!

I scoped out Port Adelaide for photo locations recently; decided to give Crozier St a go, at dawn on a Sunday morning. Good location, not such a great time, thanks to the dozens of trucks coming and going. Still, managed to get a few shots off before the semis scared me off:









I'm told that sunset on a Saturday or Sunday evening are a go.

You guys are forcing me to go out and take some pics.. great spots.. what are you using to take these?

Like a lot of people I have been drawn into playing with mobile phone pics using various filters/effects just directly on the phone.. is there anything cheap and easy I can do on an upscaled higher res pic like I assume these are?

Might need to venture out to the Port some time to get started.

I use a Canon 7D; those shots were taken with my 24-105 f/4 L IS USM walkaround lens, all on a tripod. The first shot I posted was a 20 second exposure, just before sunrise.

Try Picasa (free app for the pc from Google), and if you want to get more serious, look at Adobe Lightroom. Most all my processing I do in the RAW domain with Canon software (but also Lightroom, CPSP, Photomatix for HDR, etc).

Thanks for that, might need to give it a crack. No doubt there will probably be an ipad version of the app I use on my phone that might cover off some basic effects. Always had a vague interest in photography, just never really followed up on it.. there was a decent beginners guide in Motor six months or so back that piqued my interest again.

First things first though, I need to actually contribute and get my own car up here one day soon - plus a few side by sides with the other red VW in the family.
