Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MK5 GTI on 18" Telladega's

Hi guys, just thought I'd post these pics up in the hope they may be helpful in your decision making!
Purchased yesterday and fitted up last night a set of 18" Telladega's off the new Golf R from a member on here - Jase (swalee) who by the way was a pleasure to deal with!
Also had fitted last week a set of eibach prokit sportline springs, which I believe lowers it about 20-30mm (haven't remeasured yet)
Sorry for the lack of quality as these were only taken with my iphone this afternoon, and the cars pretty dirty.

Please feel free to give some feedback!
never posted pics on here before, hope they work!

    Regards, Steve

Hi Steve, I have also fitted same wheels (reps), do you have any rubbing problems after fitting springs. Wouls be interested to know how much lower it is now. BTW, looks fantastic

Hi Brimway, these are the genuine ones off the R. No rubbing with springs, except once when cornering hard right, think I'll have to do this "screw mod" I keep hearing about! apart from that all good! springs only on for a week now but settling down nice.
      Cheers,

For some reason when I see this combo, the rear bumper and skirts jump out at me.

If you colour coded those parts, might make it seem more complete.

Would look mint with colour coded skirts!
