Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hito's New Toy

    Hey guys,

    After the HUGE problem i had with my MK1 (blown engine and being stuck in the middle of nowhere for 6hours) and my wife and i have decided to have a baby this year i thought a new family car should be on the cards...

    Is that the ZF auto? I heard they were good. Nice pickup anyhow.

        yes it is a ZF auto - german design i believe

        plans are to keep it stock-ish

        Plans are:

        - Headlight, Bonnet & Foglamp protectors
        - Cat back exhaust with quad tips
        - K&N Air filter

        Thats it and get a good dyno tune

        i'll have all that done within 3-4 months the exhaust is about 600 odd so yeah
        and i might upgrade the speakers to something nicer

            the only problem is not i want more power its marketed as a 190kw (more like 170odd at the wheels) so i'd love to get it to 200kw at wheels so exhuast and intake should help then a remap should get me very close
