  • MY11 Golf R & MY10 Polo 77TSI

    Took a few snaps of both cars together. Not sure why they call these digital cameras point and shoot. I still suck at it.

    The R hasn't been washed yet so its getting rather filthy. But IMO when side by side, the Polo's lines makes the Mk6 look really old!

    Both are DSG with a few options. I reckon the missus will do twice as many km's as me so lucky she has the "economical" one. I can't get mine below 15L/100kms hehe

    Nice; do you both share the same taste in cars or have you forced yours upon her?

      Haha fair call. My taste has been fairly random. S15 200SX --> R32 GT-R --> XR6 --> XR6-T (x3) --> Golf R. No real flow there at all!

      Base Impreza rated well but was the first look from an old 626 so not hard to be impressed. Then a Mazda 2 but it was fairly disappointing and too "lairy". Corolla was boring and some others got no interest. I suggested the new Polo as I'd been chatting with the sales guy about it. After a look and drive, instant sale. Though I would have pushed it if need be

          Yeah its part of the experience! Just wish they'd bring back full driveway service

          The sports pack is well worth the cost on these new Polos. Transforms the car. I get asked every so often if we can paint them black.....

                Both look great.
                I agree, the new Polo has some really good styling cues...

                Quick question, who did your tint?

                What film did you use?

                  Oh and the .:R is very nice too, do you like the Rising Blue over the original Deep Blue Pearl (DBP)?

                    Yeah it does, the R looks smaller even when on its own. Must be the lack of rear doors, cos everyone that gets in it comment on how much room there is. They look at me stupid when I try to explain that its the exact same size as a 5dr Golf!

                    Was done by the dealer. There is a card in the glovebox which I presume is the warranty etc info (never paid much attention LOL). I'll suss it out and get back to you.

                    I still like DBP more. I think it has a bit more punch than RB or it works better in more lighting conditions? RB is great, but I think DBP has a slight edge.
