  • Shazza - My 1966 Sea Blue Deluxe Beetle

Just thought i'd post some pics of my 1966 Sea Blue Beetle that has just under gone a slight restoration.
I bought her in 2001 for $800 and she looked like this:

Then slowly slowly i started modding her by adding things like a 2110, slamming her, and whitewalls.
Which made her look like this for the next 8 years:

But then slowly slowly the rust started to invade the A pillars, passenger door, and bonnet. After a trips back from LA armed with a TMI interior kit i decided the car to get a full respray along with the interior kit being installed.
Due to budget constraints i couldnt go all out on the resto but i plan to do a off the floor pan resto in 15 years when my son is old enough to drive.
Adam from Raw Autowerks did the work and i am over the moon:
    Here are some progress pics:

Here are some pics of when i picked her up:

Man i am so happy and amazed at the paint. Its like a mirror finish its amazing.
I feel like Shazza was on Pimp My Ride minus Xzibit i am soo happy will get some better pics in the next couple of days
Big thanks to Mike and Adam at:

for making this possible after 8 years of ownership and putting up with a dodgy interior and dodgy paint job my car is now pretty complete and i am soo happy!
i finally have the beetle i have been dreaming about all these years!

Real nice man, makes me jealous that I don't own an older car with such character as this one.

Shazza will be making her debut in her first Hollywood movie starring with Geena Davis

                      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfpOKfmjHpU

She only starred (along with me) in the drive in scene

Here are some shots from the preview:

Did a shoot today for Cosmo magazine. Was only there for an hour so it was easy money but had to drive to Sutton Forest. The only bad thing was i lost a whitewall flap due to the speeds i was hitting on the highway

Here are some quick pics from the farm:

Be sure to keep an eye on Shazza in June Cosmo
