Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

                  Hooooly crap!

                  Best!

Mate you did the right thing putting those wheels on too, far out I've never seen a polo so tough. Congrats lol.

EDIT: I hate to say I see buff marks , but I'm very interested in the wax you used to get that paint to shine like it does?

Thanks for the great comments, but as for the paint, it has been a strugle to get her (it) to this stage. I'm the second owner and the tiny scratches that were in it when I got it have been a challange to remove, but we are getting there. I have some rain dance wax that brought over from the states and it seems to do a good job, so ill stick with it. Cheers ssman

Ahh nice one. For the scratches, or swirls, looks like you could buff it out with a nice strong polish...i'm using menzerna and it's strong if needs be jump into the detailing section armed with some pics if you'd like some advice on how best to get rid of them swirls

Cheers, yeh need to get it lowered a tad more. Pretty straight forward process for tinting, just spray soapy water onto the lamps, place the film over the lamp and a hair dryer to dry up the film to make it stick. Tip is to remember to stretch the film as much as you can once you place it over the lamps. But really is quite trickier to do then it appears, for me that is haha
