Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Welcome to the forums, and very nice example you have there! I'm always surprised to see so many nice aftermarket goodies on NZ Mk3s, like the Zender sideskirts and ABT front lip and Hella Dual Rounds. They fetch some decent money! Do you guys have distributors there, or just import them in from overseas?
        Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.

Yea audio install is very neat and hidden if I don't say so myself. Sub moulded into the side of the boot, amps under the back seats, cables in the sills.

For the size of the country I would say there is pretty decent support for VW's. We have a couple distributors for after market VW parts, I would say they specialise more in performance parts rather then styling though

I actually vacuumed it the day prior to those photos

Only other thing I would really like to do to it is lower the front a tad more, but that would mean I have to buy new springs and I can't be bothered at the mo!

Thought I would dig this out of the ground and bump it to the top - lots of changes happened over the past year or so

Yeah saw this on VASK tonight, looking really quality now, those last few shots are really flattering. Can't wait to get to an Auckland meet sometime. Missed that big car meet last year.

I liked your idea with the Mk2 style front, but your car is just pulling off the simplicity of the Vento front with Euro lip soooo well, the best its ever looked.

p.s. is that blue Mk3 Estate in Auckland with South African VR6 15"s (little fat 5 spokes) actually a VR6?

                        Cheers

Yep that blue Mk3 Variant is running a 24v VR6 out of a Bora with a rare 6spd FWD box, as well as a Mk4 dash etc
It's a bit of a sleeper with those fat fives at the moment

Ah that's right, I have seen pics now I think about it. VR6 wagon would be very cool. I had those wheels once too.

Some really interesting stuff going on in NZ, crazy kiwi builds (i.e. V8 Polo....mmmm delicious insanity)
