Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

the poping is backpressure mine does it too and i have a cannon on the rear i would suggest vr6 orners change catolytic converters to high flow better performance

Mine does it too... Not one big pop, more like a small pop, pop, pop, but then again I'm not on a skate board hanging onto the bumper as I drive around either

That was the first thing i did to mine!

I used a 2.5" supercat 'cat, and a full 2.5" custom system with just the center muffler, and a hotdog in the rear, so its bloody loud. I love the way mine pops and farts on overrun. and its not backpreasure, its unburnt fuel being burnt as the fuel maps swap and change with the revs and throttle positions. i dont know if everyones VR6's does it but mine crackles like crazy as soon as the tacho drops to 2 grand. If you slighty tap the throttle while slowing down, just enough to move the throttle position sensor, you can make it pop continualy.

rather, its now audible because the middle muffler is removed - before it would have cut those noises out.
