Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Thanks for the comments guys

Only one Bora was sold new in NZ (auto V5), the rest are all used imports. There are very few V6 4motions (10-20) as most sold in Japan were LHD so can't be registered here. The one good thing was that all the Jap market V6 4motion Boras have a very high spec level as standard

You are more likely to find a Golf V6 4motion in NZ.

Is anyone able to help me get in contact with a good wrecker or parts supplier in Australia? I'm after a euro boot lid: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ad.php?t=30492

Only if it has a FIS cluster with the full height screen in the middle, otherwise it will just be an MFA cluster which cannot do this.

                Hi mate,
firstly congratulations on the mods, the car looks great!

i recently purchased some exceptional 17inch rims for my 98 VW Passat from an eauropean car wrecking specialist. they might be able to offer some assistance: www.parramattaprestige.com.au

also have a look at this web page: http://volkspower.com.au/service.html they have links to other suppliers in all Oz states and possibly NZ.

good luck and i sincerely look forward to seeing more photos.

                mr puddinz.

Very cool what you did with the interior! And some pretty weird facts about Boras and New Zealand... how come there was only ONE that was actually sold new???
                  Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
                  Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

Car looks fantastic mate With the Passat interior dome, do the red LEDs stay illuminated the whole time? Have seen these pictured on here but never for real.

mr puddinz - thank you very much! I will send off some emails in the next day or two.

rayray086 - the one Bora they sold new here was originally the local importer's evaluation car and it was them that decided not to reintroduce the booted Golf until the Mk5 Jetta came out. There are 2 Bora TDI 6 speeds here that apparently came from over your side of the ditch when they were new - highly spec'ed too.

geoff_gti - the illumination in the sunroof controls and the LEDs both turn on and dim with the headlight switch.

                      Thanks for the comments guys
