I'll be interested to see how you go spending that 4k!
aha yea, well I'm going to take that real slow I think. First thing I'm going to look into is getting a few little marks fixed in the bodywork, then I'll do the budget again.

gah, it's your first car, doesn't have to be perfect!
Ahh good to see you picked it up Tim and are happy with it. I went around to Adam's on Sunday arvo and he said you were stoked to pick it up. Apparently your parents liked it as well which is a huge positive!
Shame about the little ding in the front corner, couldn't be worse timing from Lana (friggin 2 days before the cruise!) Oh well, if it didn't have the ding you wouldn't have snapped it up at that price....very good IMO! He kept asking me whether he's let it go too cheap but I assured him it was all good. I didn't want to ruin a sale I half set up haha.
I really like the wheels on it, always have. They suit it really well.
Yea my parents were really happy with the whole thing, which is always important
I'm looking around now to get the ding fixed and a few spots cleared up around the bodywork, but they're all pretty minor marks so I don't mind them for now.
I gave it a good clean today, the wheels were filthy! But it turned out really nice and will be getting a claybar/cut/polish/wax next week in my uni holiday
Might take the wheels off and clean them really well while I'm at it.
Looks very tidy to me and if i had 4k to spend i'd be doing something along these lines.
Phase 1: Cut and Polish
Phase 2: VW service and tune
Phase 3: I'd be inclined to do the Mk1 headlight grill conversion and de-badge the rear VW badge
Phase 4: Tidy up the interior

There's my 2c's if you wanted to know.
You really need to see this in the flesh.
Phase 1: It's pretty damn clean as it is but yes could use a polish (what car couldn't). Phase 2: The guy who sold it to him is a VW/Audi specialist mechanic (was head mechanic at VW Gold Coast and VW in London somewhere). It doesn't need any engine servicing/work done. Tim knows whats been done. Phase 3: Why ruin a GTI and make it look like a non-GTI. There aren't many of these around, I reckon stocko GTI bodywork should stay. Phase 4: The interior is in exceptional condition.

My parents have successful convinced me to put $2k towards my $4k debt, so that figure is now halved, but it's all good, by the time I work out what I want to do with it, I'll have time to save the required cash anyway

more photos Tim...interior and engine bay?
I forgot to ask Adam about the exhaust, I know it's got extractors, but not sure if its had the full system replaced. (sounds awesome anyway how it is)
I love the look of the front anyway, wouldn't change that.
And yes, the interior is immaculate, bar 3 tiny holes in the passenger seat, literally every part is spotless.
More photos ay, I'll see what else I have, and can always go take more. I'll get some really good ones next week tho definitely.
edit: Took it over to oliver's place yesterday arvo where he had a drive, liked it as well. My other friend then brought over his diesel passat, and I wanted to get all the cars lined up and take more pics, but had to get to work so couldn't!
looks very nice
but imo the wheels look to new for the car ( i would go for a phat retro/oem+ look wheel )
a give it that agressive stance with some coilovers
but thats just me
anyways it looks tops, great buy man hope it serves you well and you serve it well

Coilovers are definitely high up in my to-buy list, and I was wanting some 16" bbs or something, but I'll just see what comes on the market.
A 16" version of these ($921 b4 postage, thanks ray). Unless 15s are fine..but I don't want it to be too low and scrape around everywhere.
