Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Cosworth Memories

OK so wasnt sure if this was ths spot to put these pics but what the hell...one of the photos is of me at my yr12 Formal with the Green AWD Sierra Sapphire Cosworth so it technically is (was) my ride!

After seeing that RS500 for sale on ebay it inspired me to dig out some old photos of here and back in the UK. My family (primarily my uncle) are/were right into Cosworths. He worked for Stig Blomqvist in Europe and **** Johnson and Colin Bond over here on their cossies and also built a highly tuned RS500 (approx 550 bhp ) for the last Cannonball Run from Darwin to Adelaide (that year those guys died in the F40).

I found a few pics of cars the family had in the UK and some from over here too and thought it might interest some of you guys.

Stig Blomquist ... cool ... he was one of the RS200 and earlier Audi Quattro drivers.

What years were the pictures taken from may I ask?

Yeah he worked for Stig Blomquist probably early 90's I think, im going to try and get some of his photos including the Cannonball run beast

The ones back in the UK/Ireland were around 1990/91 I think.
Came over to Aus in 1994 but I didnt take the ones of Colin Bonds car so not sure on dates.
