Had this as low as 4.6L/100km's heading to the south coast.
usually average 7.4L around town though

Can not say the same about these diesels though.

    Nice

Whereabouts on the South Coast were you?
I saw a few Silver/Grey MKV's around this arvo in Nowra around lunchtime.

And a nice MK2 in Nowra Fair with JMB number plates I think (starting with J, cant remember the rest)

        Ah I see.
        Cool!

I thought you meant you were down here today for a day trip

        4.6L is excellent!
Mine was down to 5.5L/100 on a trip back from Wollongong last week.

Very popular in 60s & 70s, fitted behind the handle to stop fingernails from scratching the paint. Used to be made from aluminum.

                I know what they are.
I just cant see how you could think from that picture that their is door handle scuffs on it?

Anybody still use them on late model cars?

Must be just the shadow at the back of the handle, makes them look a little bit like they could have a matt black coloured plate there. Don't know if they still make them (the aluminium plates), I haven't seen them since back in the days of the early model Fords and Holdens myself.

Yes, it looks much darker behind the handles, maybe carbon fibre. I have seen one on apic of a USA Golf. Much better than those unsightly scratch marks.
