jeez man, you had me worried for a second then...thought you might have run into a pole or something while watching the car's reflection off a building window etc!!! haha
guess you didn't have to call ami then...
haha dont worry Geoff both of us are still in tip top condition
i probably should talk about the whole foaming thing now...
i cleaned my GTI yesterday at my mates place... he is a professional car detailer and he has a new fangled foamer gun system that will clean your car without the need to touch it. this means no risk of swirls and scratches whilst being very wax friendly.
it gets about 90% of everything off. some of the caked on crap like bug poo still sticks. when its in that foam state you give it a quick once over with a soft lambs wool mit.
all i used there was the Dodo juice wash.. nothing strong at all! the whole idea of the foamer is to gently lift the dirt and crud off the paint by lubricating the surface. when you rinse it with a gentle high pressure washer all the dirt falls off
i was skeptical when my mate first told me about it.. but seeing it in use it really works.. and bloody well!

How do you know which parts need to be cleaned with the lambs wool mitt when you car is covered in the foam? Or do you go over the whole car with the mitt?

i just go over the whole car. also its not that hard to see it under the foam.
I'm a newbie in Perth. Just bought a used Mk5 comfortline. A very nice car indeed. This is my first European car. I must say it feels a lot nicer than all the Japanese cars that I've had so far.

Hi Daniel, welcome to the forum & congrats on your purchase
Have a look in the WA Events Section, got a few things coming up and would be nice to see some Mk V's there.
