Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Our new Golf V

    Now it begins.

Delivery looks like Friday next weeek, when I finish work early @ 1 PM (and have Saturday & Sunday OFF).

Today I went to Solitaire VW @ Mile End to pick up a few pieces for the new Golf. Unlike alot of people here, I have a good relationship with the Dealer. I got some great prices on these parts. Brenton also took me around the back to have a look at our new VW. It looked GREAT!! I had a sit in it. The towbar is fitted, as is the aluminium rear bumper protection. I wish I had the camera

    I think I'm getting excited

Nice work, great colour as well, its good to see that the VW tow bars are actually rather nice looking, something that can't be said about most other manufacturers.

Now all you gotta do now is get that heat gun out and take all that 'unnecessary' badging on the back off

The lowest the trip computer went on the shortish drive home. Note the fuel guage....delivered with a full tank of diesel!!

                              Home.

Took "Klaus" for a drive up the Freeway to Hahndorf for drinks & a meal. Trip computer got down to 5.5 L/100kms on the way home.

Have to say I have been very well looked after by Kate & Solitaire. I had an issue with the cruise control that had been fitted, and to their great credit, will do the changes I suggested at their expence (which they didn't expect to have to pay for and could very easily have said NO).

I have to say it was the icing on the cake.....they get my recommendations.
