Yep bored again mate, waiting for my singlr badgless grill and it is all coming off. Yep it does look poo in blue.

In Europe, USA and Australia.

MK1 HARDTOP - Made until 1983.

MK1 SOFTOP made until 1993.

They never made a softop MK2 so the MK1 design stayed until they made the MK3 Golf, in soft and hard top.

However to complicate it even more, South Africa still made the MK1 design until recently, unless they still do...
