EGR Removal 2006

Just picked it up.
Now to be honest it might just be me but it seems so much more responsive.
The EGR was close to being fully blocked, possible reason why the cooler split???
Total cost just over $400 for part, shipping and fitting compared to $1700 just for a new EGR/ cooler part alone??
No code showing and I am back on the road.
Take a look at Darkside Developments web page, cant recommend them enough.

I swear it is using a lot less fuel, I havet done an actual test but a tank is lasting longer?
I should have done this ages ago..!

Hey Scouser cheers for the story mate, my van has been running like poo of late! Maybe a EGR replacement would be in order, i get 620km per tank and 670 at best! I have a AXE as well, my mechanic says i may have a crack in the exhaust manifold as it whistles when revving between gears, we havent gone for a replacement due to there being no black smoke stains under the bonnet, annnyways, can anybody flash the ecu or did you have to hunt around? Did u install that part yourself? All good if you dont want to specify companies!

I bought the part from Darkside in the UK same place I got the manifold a cast one, compared to the mild steel original at less than half price.
My mechanic is a VW place and he removed the codes couldnt be happier.

Hey Scouser i brought the EGR delete kit, however my mechanic is having trouble fitting it!! Could I have you mechanics name so i can find out what he did differently? My no is 0407 125 200!
I have a 2005 4motion! Thanks in advance mate! I am going to send darkside an email now!

So to follow up, mechanic is afraid of cutting the turbo boost pipe. Sounds like he would have to cut off a factory fitting/clamp on the end of the pipe? The kit came with a clamp so I am guessing the clamp would replace that factory clamp? And he wants to know whether the two vac pipes one to vac box and one to reg. Do they need to be blocked or bridged? Not sure if i have conveyed what he has told me correctly. The van is at his workshop so I am keen to get it back ASAP! thanks again!

Have a look at the EGR pipe and see how blocked it is. You will be shocked..!!
