looks pretty cosy, would the RV-3 be more practical on its own?

RV3 tent

I already have the RV3 which is a very good tent, but as it folds down to 2mtrs long and is much larger and heavier, it is more difficult to carry inside the car, and is better out of the way on the roof.

But also as it provides a bedroom and the van already has that then it is really doubling up, whereas the screen room makes a nice outdoor kitchen and can keep flies and insects out as well as light rain and also be a camp placeholder if you drive off.

It is all a bit experimental, and we have been almost a year now sorting out the various components of our camping rig, so this is the latest idea which we will only use for stays of more than overnight.

Off to Lark Quarry via Carnarvon Gorge in two weeks, for a 3 week round trip to central qld. Can't wait.
