Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Scopma RIB camper bed available here in Australia

    Well,

I'd been searching for the last 6 months of my options for a rock n roll bed, looked overseas, struggle to find uk companies to ship to Australia, then there as the issue of compliance here.

Got a heads up from another forum member "Craig902" about Wanderlust Campers up at Coolum, as they just started to sell their campers.

I asked if i was able to just buy their bed as i was building my own camper, and Philip was very accommodating.

They can fit and also have an engineer that will sign it off as a ADR approved Seating.

I've got one on order, i went up to look at the Scopma RIB (French Made Bed) it has to be the best bed I've seen so far.

3 point seat belts, integrated head rests, rear head rest, all covered in VW fabric to match the factory VW seats.

I also got the optional 220mm slider that will allow me to have the bed sitting closer to the rear of the vehicle.

As it is a custom build for each bed, I was also able to increase the height of the frame work to allow a porta potty under the bed.

I'd just though i'd post this as i know its not easy finding a good camper bed and this may save you time.

    SCOPEMA

    Cheers,

    Bryn

I should also point out the Lift up camper roof system Philip designed, fantastic design, i believe he sells and installs these as well.

its just good to see another option for camper roofs in Aus.

        Hi Bryn,

Do you mind me asking how much this set you back? And did you have a VW?

Will the engineer sign off the swivel bases for the front seats?

I can't see why not, as its a simple job.

I had my swivel seat bases signed off by another engineer in Brisbane, before i got the bed.
