I thought I'd publically thank my dealer, Burwin's Ferntree Gully Vic. for helping me out on short notice today.
Loaded my trailer with about 800kg of goods this morning for a 200 km delivery run on the Mornington Peninsula and on start up in the factory driveway my dashboard exhaust gas warning light remained on...called dealer and based on my info they felt OK to continue the drive and to pop in tomorrow morning.
Finished run, light still on, then back in Melbourne for a second del. run, after a lunch break no light...half hour later back on, so called dealer and said could I come in now if they have time...30km later I'm sipping coffee in the service dept. waiting area and they are replacing the sensor and the sliding door trim around the interior door handle...great service on very short notice, so Thanks to Burwins.
On a second note I got a call later saying that there is a replacement campaign on engine oil coolers for the T5 (I assume Multivans aswell). There's a thread in the diesel section although no mention of an official factory replacement campaign so I thought I'd mention it here. Mine's an MY07 T5, June '07 build and goes in this coming Monday. I was told to watch for any dashboard warning lights, specifically the coolant warning light as oil will coat the sensors within the coolant reservoir should the oil cooler break. IIRC it suffers an internal failure. Maybe a call to your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved is wise.
