I've decided to make a thread just for the 3200GVM upgrade, as the info i found out while ordering my transporter is in multiple threads.
It can be ordered in, i had to contact VW Australia and get my Dealer to investigate...it isn't available on the online VW dealer ordering system, the dealer will have to contact VW Australia.
The Upgrade is approx $2000 AUD..
The differences to the 3000GVM are as follows from VW Australia
In Australia we have kept the GVM upgrade for special orders only as there are few to be taken into consideration when it comes to upgrading the GVM to 3.2t. However, we are more than happy to help especially with below motoring need.
In Australia, the 4Motion model we offer is a Transporter Van LWB TDI400 DSG 4Motion which its own model code SGH1C9HD (no option code like in NZ). It is very important to know, that with the upgraded GVM you get
- a suspension upgrade
- breakdown mobility kit
- all-terrain tyres
- chassis upgrade to 17" wheels.
That means, you do NOT get:
- a full-size spare wheel
- normal road tyres
- normal chassis.
As the dealers cannot order the GVM upgraded Transporters through our internal ordering system, it would be great if the customer could tell us, which dealer he is trying to go through. This will give us the opportunity to assist the customer/dealer & place this order
