Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Cars got 6000kms on it and I'm getting around 11k/L or 9L/100km as a mix of highway and city.
Will it get better as it runs in? Or is this expected economy?

I don't have one but without doubt that will improve as it loosens up.

      Sounds bloody wonderful. Over 125000 on my pre-DSG T5 Multivan, I've averaged 12½ around town & 9 where there's a 100 k limit & 10 for the 110 k stretches, worse if I don't run cruise control.

Just checked my records. When I gave up recording mileage at 105000 (a holiday full of receipts were mulched in the washing machine), my all road average was 10.95l/100k.
