what is the difference in 16" and 17" in comfort, handling & wear etc, i know what look better! with the extra price but what about on the road?

I have 17" Michelins on the multivan. Done 35,000 K so far, and plenty of tread depth left. Nothing wrong with the ride either, but I've never been able to make a comparison between mne and one with 16's.
If you haven't found the brickyard yet, they are a great source for information like this:

difference between 16 and 17 shouldnt make much difference at all. except for the slightly more expensive tyres. they'll both have a substantial amount of rubber on the t5 i should think?

16" wheels should give you a bit better fuel economy. And better off road performance.

if they are the same rolling diameter it wouldn't matter... depending on pressures and how stiff your suspension is would also affect the ride...way to many variables...17" tyres are cheap now days any way (obviously what brand you buy)

              go the 17's

Given the same rolling diameter, the lighter the wheel and tyre combination the better the performance and the less (slightly) fuel consumption. So size doesn't matter as much as mass

                      Thanks all

I have decided to go the 16's, we will do country roads as well as city and even on Yorke penninsula they are rough as guts, and as the 16's are cheaper and give that btter ride on rough roads cheers
