After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Oily Transporter MAP Sensor / ECU

    Hey guys,

I took the T4 to a mechanic last week because I couldn't seem to fix the weird idle I had.

They tell me they found oil in the MAP sensor which is a part of the ECU on this model.

New ECU is like $3k, or sending the ECU to Melbourne for a refurb is about $600 + their labour charges for about $250.

The van isn't worth that much...has anyone else had this problem? Could I clean it myself? How would it get oily? Is that a part of a bigger problem?

    Any help is much appreciated!

Get the ECU part number and google it. Find a replacement on ebay, have it coded to the Van or swap the immo chips over or swap the MAP sensor.
