  • T5 Multivan - door release cable spacer on door card broken

I've stripped the card off the door and the problem of the failure of the interior door release is immediately evident. The cable & door handle are fine; what's happened is the moulding on the door card that retains the cable sheath has cracked off.

A trawl around the net hasn't located a new door card, so has anybody experience with rewelding this type of plastic?

    Cheers, John

    hi John,

now my multi is out of warranty i have just done this repair using loctite polypropylene adhesive and activator from bunnings

i bonded it back together and reinforced it with flat washers.
at the same time i did the same to the other side before it broke.

      Thanks.

Been a tad quiet as I have had some surface rust cut off my right hand and typing one finger is a pain.

I have the same problem - thanks for the Loctite tip. Can you give me instructions for dummies about getting the door trim off to do this, without breaking anything else
        thanks very much
