Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • pre 03' transporter rims

    Hi,

I'm on the polo 9N3 forums. I've found a set of 7JH16ET42 rims that are apparently off a pre 03' transporter. Can anyone tell me if these are 5 X100 PCD? Also, does anyone know how much they weigh? - are they over engineered and likely to be stupidly heavy for a hatch ie compared to the 16'' denvers that are on a polo or would there be nothing in it?

    thanks for any help

    sam

If they are proper transporter rims then they should be load rated and yes, very heavy compared to say an Enkei RPf1

no worries. thanks for the reply. I did a bit of digging and it seems they are all 5 X 112 anyway.

      thanks
