Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Parking sensors not working in 2009 Caravelle...!

When the parking sensors are turned on manually or by shifting into reverse, a long loud beeeeeeeep comes from the dashboard, and the light on the parking sensor button flashes continuously.

I have checked that the sensors are 'pinging' by placing my ear against them and I can hear all 8 (4 front, 4 rear).

I have not been able to find the specific location of the parking sensor fuse anywhere online, so I had a look at all the fuses as best I could without removing them and they all seem fine.

Short of removing them, I've also cleaned them, tapped on them, and pushed on the back of them, but to no avail.

Any help identifying the cause or suggesting other tests would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers!

You need to get fault codes checked. More than likely that either the front or rear parking aid buzzer has failed. When they fail it shuts the system down as it cant function 100% if not a buzzer issue then one of the sensors has failed. Again it shuts the whole system down if one component is inop

Never considered that it would be the actual 'buzzer' that has failed!
Where are these located, as I'll try and have a look at them?
