Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Boot warning light not turning off.

    Hey,

I just got my t5 van back from getting both bumpers painted and some damage repaired on the side, and now the boot warning light stays on on my dash when every thing is closed. Everything locks fine, but the light just won't go off when ignition is on. Any suggestions? I have barn doors and can't seem to find were the sensor is located either.

    Thanks in advanced.

The micro-switch for the warning light is integrated with the door latch/lock, so that might not be switching, or where the
repairs have been done there might be a short circuit of the warning lamp wire. With the door open try moving the latch
with a screwdriver to see if the light goes off, or separate the the connectors behind the tail light to see if the light
    switches off.

Ok thanks i'll give that a try. Do you know if the wire for the sensor runs up the left side of the Van?

No, sorry, wires run both sides of roof, not sure which side for that. Try those other things first, I might be able to
        lookup wire color later.

The sensor of the rear doors are in the lock system of the left door. Take the panel off, probably a loose wire or a switch that is stuck
