    Hi all, I've recently replaced my front airbag setup and returned to some Bilstein struts and lowered springs. I have what are supposed to be 60mm lowered springs but to me they look a lot higher than that.

    Could someone with a stock height t5 please measure from the bottom of the front guard to the ground and let me know the measurement? My van is a 2005 2.5 Tdi so something similar without worn out shocks etc. would probably be ideal.

    Can anyone tell me if the Multivans sit a little lower than the standard vans? The ones I've noticed seem to and I'm not sure if they run different springs and shocks or if it's the extra weight in the Multivan that causes it.

    Hi 77dual,

    According to the original Transporter brochure I have (May 2007) the specs show 165mm from ground to bottom edge of the front bumper. Just in case, overall height of van is showing 1990mm from ground to highest point of roof. I don't have a 2007 Multivan brochure.

    The current MY2015 Multivan brochure shows 186mm although it rides on 17" rims and shows an overall height of 1970mm.

        No probs. Out of curiosity did you have a setup with bladder inserts that sit within the front springs and are inflatable. I had these on my old T4 for the rear to maintain ride height when carrying a 1000Lt container in the back? Found it a bit floaty/bouncy under load and on the T5 went to h/d springs instead.

          No my setup was an airbag strut so the coil spring was replaced by an airbag. It was great for adjustability and looked really good when all aired out but it rode very badly and wasn't worth fixing. I still have them in the rear, again the spring was replaced with the bag. The rears are great, they handle well and I just inflate them more when I'm carrying a heavy load.

            ahh, I see, more like what I see on semi's, no springs at all. As I mentioned above with the insert type I had I found it bouncing under heavy load. The h/d springs in the T5 while making it sit high when empty provide much tighter compression & rebound under heavy load. Does your setup at the rear avoid this?

              Mine is still a bit bouncy in the rear but it doesn't change a whole lot wether the van is loaded or empty. I still have standard shocks, I'll get around to replacing them with Bilsteins one day which I think will help.
