Rough Idle Problem T4 Petrol

This is my first post and my gorgeous wife is doing the typing!!
I have a 93 2Litre Petrol T4 Transporter.
This is what's happening:
When I start the car from cold, the car will start and idle well but as soon as you try and take off it almost stalls. When you get going and drive about 50 metres its fine. You can stop the car turn it off and then restart immediately after and it starts and idles great. After stopping for half an hour or so the problem comes back.
The mechanic has put on a new dizzy cap on, cleaned the throttle body and put in injector cleaner. It's a little better but still has the same problem. He has also used the fault finder on the computer but nothing has come up.
Does anyone have any ideas?
