Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Help deciphering injector types and where to get them for a T5 AXE engine.

    Hi All
I've been reading a bit but I'm not in any better position. I've got a 2005 T5 2.5TDI 4 motion and the engine no. starts with AXE. I've got a blocked injector, and was trying to hunt down somewhere that might be a little cheaper than the $1000 each they cost here in Oz. As the motor has 260K on it I think it is time to do all the injectors, and so am just trying to get the cost down a bit.
Reading all over the net and seeing what's available I can see injectors for AXD, AXC, BNZ, BRD engines, etc etc, but none for AXE. Are any interchangeable? Why are AXE not so readily available?
Anyone know of anyone that does recond injectors? I understand some might frown on them but economics dictates what can be done sometimes.

    Regards
    Daniel
    Thanks from

OK. Doing some more searching I think I have found out the following. The injector part no. for my car is 070130073N, which is the same as 070130073NX, and is cross referenced with new code 0414720278 which replaced code no. 0414720228, which has a 'remand' code of 0986441573 which replaced 'remand' code 0986441573. WTF????
I got this info from INJECTION-AUTOMOTIVE: 0414720278 BOSCH - INJECTOR PUMP COMMON RAIL
    Can anyone decipher that?
    Thanks from
    Daniel
