Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • new T5 camper conversion. any tips for back seats?

    Hi

I have recently bought a T5 "runner" special edition SWB and plan on converting it into a camper. it's a bit of an empty shell right now. I will insulate, line walls and roof and put down a rubber matt before installing a back seat. I would like the back seat to fold down on itself and be completely flat. I know that there are a lot of back seats out there, but can't seem to find info on one (in Australia) that folds down to 180 degrees. The plan is to then add a drifta kitchen behind the back seat. If the back seat doesn't go completely flat I'll be having an uncomfortable night sleep on a a bit of an angle!

If you can point me in the right direction, i'd be very grateful!

    Cheers
    Fredro
