Heater fan and thermo fan T4

Hi All,

I have had a few issues with cooling system on my T4 and found that one of the thermo fans was stuffed. Replaced it and now have both thermo fans working ( ie when briging out wires on radiator sensor).
What is odd is that I do not hear the thermo fan kick in after the car has been turned off like it once did ( before original thermo fan dies).
Also, when I turn the fan on inside (ie heater fan etc) even without turning the air conditioner on, both of the thermo fans kick in. Is this supposed to happen??

I know you said that the fan used to cut in after switching off but maybe it hasn't been as hot since. Check for continuity on the sensor when it is very hot.
My rad. fans start when I turn on the switch inside & I know someone also on this forum where this also happens. Both of our vans have been converted by Trakka, don't know if that is significant. It's something I would like to change if I knew how, auto electrics is not my strong point. The A/C on Aust. delivered vans was fitted locally with Denso units so this maybe where this problem came from.

When I had my T4 camper, don't know how many times cruising around Tassie I keep thinking, be great to stop now and have a cuppa, sorry off track there, the fans always come on if the A/C is switched on and they normally stay on after you have switched the motor off, helps not to build up a heat spot in one place. Check the fusible links/fuses, lift the panel over the battery, and on the panel above the head light is a little box that the lid swings up to reveal the two fuses. They should look like a couple of thin pieces of silver metal, I say should, as the auto electrician replaced mine with some thick wire that was the same thing. I had brought them from VW, but just never got around replacing them.

Spoke to VW australia today and they have assured me that turning on fan should activate the thermo fan
