  • Wind deflectors

Hi all, long time no post.

I'm getting a bit sick of water dripping down onto my window switches when I open my window if its raining or if I stop and the water on the roof runs down the front of the van, so I'm looking for some wind deflectors.

As usual, there are heaps in the UK, with the usual problem that no one likes to ship, or it costs a packet to do so (just got quoted 50 pounds from an eBay seller, when the deflectors were 25!)

Heko ones seem to get a good wrap, but I can't seem to find an Aussie retailer. Anyone got any views on a good brand and where to purchase in oz?

    Cheers

I bought the same for my T4 from Justkampersaustralia.com. They work well enough when on but the only drawback is that when you wind the window up and then back down, it drags the deflector down with it. This becomes a bit annoying when driving as you then have to push it back up into the window grove.

There is a mob in Brisbane, who often sell on eBay, that make a full wind deflector that actually attaches to the door frame. Can't remember their name off hand but I would probably have it somewhere. From memory I think they are $85 each side and come in a range of shades.

These look great Foxpuppet! I also looked these up on the site that Ken suggested and it appears that they are just stuck on with double-sided tape without any clamping system. If this is correct, are you happy with how they grip?

so far yes, it was just double sided tape about 8mm wide. there were no instructions which could lead some into trouble but relatively easy to fit. it came with alcohol wipes to clean/prep the paintwork, then i held it up until it was even and placed a few pencil marks in the position i was happy with. then i peeled about 10cm worth towards the back of the door and stuck it, confirming it was still on my marks, then pulled it away slightly if it was off, then peeled the rest of the tape away slowly pressing it down as i went. it's only been used on local roads since (so under 60km/h) i'll see how it goes on the F3 this week.

no clamps makes for a very stream lined look and easy to clean.

Sounds promising. Would appreciate the feedback when you increase the speed. Thanks

I've done over 6000kms with them and 138km max (according to my TomTom, must have been doing some inland highway overtaking of a road train!)
No issues. Just clean the pained surface of your door with the alcohol wipes supplied, let it dry, and apply firmly. Tip for new players, really ensure that they are on square as once that 3M adhesive tape sticks, it doesn't want to let go! A highly recommended item.
Now to fit my headlight loom upgrade and new globes, as well as the LED internal lights in the back that I just recieved from the UK.
                        Best wishes all.

Have some deflectors on mine with a VW stamp, so I'm guessing they're genuine???
Appears they are only stuck on also, and they have been up to 185km/h and back

I do get some whistling from the LHS with the window down at highway speeds, not sure if it's the deflector causing it or not.
