Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • AXD EGR Valve

Does anyone have a dead EGR valve to suit an AXD engine?

I need the body for an idea I want to try.

What's the part number on it? I've probably got one out the back on the scrap metal pile.

            ETKA indicates 070 128 070 E.

I need an EGR valve with a good VW hose clamp spigot. It does not have to be specific for the AXD but should be the same diameter.

No problemo. I'll go and have a look today, and see what I can come up with.

I'd reckon VW dealers would have a small pile out the back of every workshop.....JMHO....

It's gone. I think it went out in last council clean up. Sorry!

                        Found one.

Just got to double-check the part number.

It's typically covered in a nice sticky charcoal and oil mixture, but I'll clean it up for you if it turns out be the one you're after.

                            Part number's different.

This is the one with the vacuum diaphragm-actuated arm on it.

Sorry Pete. I'm not sure if I have the AXD motor, I just replaced my valve on Friday but didn't see your post other wise I would have kept it for you.
It is Part No 1K0906627A 'Pressure Converter EGR" on a 2007 128kw 2.5 Van.
$122 AU for the part and $100 to fit (yep, I know it's a 15 minute job!)
Fitted at Wagga VW, at least they then washed the van after a 3000km drive from Nth Queensland!

                              Best wishes all.
