Thats right, they will fit under but won't bolt up.VW keep changing pcd just to annoy us,they must have a Japanese exchange engineer helping them out!

Its annoying that T5 wheels are a different pattern. i like the steelies with a half moon cutout. They would look great on a T4.

AU Falcon Mags are the same pattern etc as T4. I have seen one van with em on and it looked good.

Audi Mags are the cheapest and easiest option, but use light truck tyres.

Plenty of LT tyres available in a 16"

I think you'll find that AU rims are 5x114.3pcd.
The way around it is that ford have 12mm bolt holes.
What you do is get the 12mm bolt holes offset drilled to 14mm.
I've seen Territory Steelies fitted to Bay Kombi's this way which are the same pcd as T4.

            Why?

LT has nothing to do with load rating. It's just a marketing ploy.
            Another forum myth.

That may be, but a lot of rego stations wont rego a van unless it has LT tyres.

Well my syncro wouldn't have passed with the original tyres.
Just shows what dipsticks some mechanics are.

just fitted some Oettinger RE 17x8 rims to my T4.
                  fit perfect.
the load rating on the Oettinger's is 810 kg.
I also found some 235/45/17 tyres with a 710kg load rating, so everything is nice and legal.
                  will post pics soon.

okay, it is an old thread I know, but my questions fits in well here and I don't have to start a new one....

What load index/ratings do none OEM T4 rims need to be street legal (my wife likes it street legal)? I just have a floor and backseat in the car at the moment...

Can't remember exactly but if you look at the placard inside the drivers door frame it has the axle loads....wheels have to exceed half of the axle load. To my knowledge, only Speedy Wheels sell rated alloys for the T4.

wow. thanks for all that input seano. it kinda sucks being stuck with steelies or speedy wheels. i would love to run some OEM Audis 5 spoke...

                              actually:

Do I need uprated wheels and tyres or just uprated tyres????

(Sorry for the n00b question, I just can't find any reliable information or sth that confirms just the need of uprated tyres!)
