Tick over RPM normal?

G'day,

Got a newish (5000k) 2011 103KW Transporter, it ticks over at about 1000RPM and occasionally does a little shudder but the RPM needle does not move during the shudder.
1000RPM seems a bit high to me but I am not familiar with these.

It's definitely a bit high for the idle speed, get it checked.
